Halley Cox, i4Series Intern & rising Senior at NCSU
My name is Halley Cox and I am the i4Series intern this summer!
I am a rising senior at North Carolina State University pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I first heard about i4Series from one of our elite sponsors, SiMT and I immediately resonated with its purpose. Being a college student, I imagine the difficulties that many may face when starting their own business. Making meaningful connections, finding what resources are at your fingertips, and simply getting one foot out the door can seem almost impossible. Having the opportunity to network with such a broad range of professionals and members of the community is a game changer.
My goal is to graduate and pursue a corporate career that highlights my interests in marketing, advertising, and social media. After gaining some experience, I hope to return to school to get a Masters of Business Administration. From there, I may even want to start my own business, an endeavor I once thought was out of my reach. Hearing the stories of so many successful business owners in South Carolina and becoming immersed in the culture surrounding business have made me realize my hopes of becoming an entrepreneur are not as unattainable as I once thought.
I feel extremely lucky to be part of i4Series this summer and to have the opportunity to gain insight, not only from individuals within the i4Series team, but also from everyone I meet. Already, in the few short weeks that I have been working, I have learned the importance of networking and being able to make connections with people I would not normally have the chance to meet. It excites me to know that this organization is working toward giving that opportunity to everyone who needs it.
There are so many things I am looking forward to this summer with i4Series. I am eager to meet more people within the business world of South Carolina, help plan and orchestrate upcoming events (especially the Freshman to Founder event… it’s going to be phenomenal), and simply soak in every piece of advice and guidance that is offered to me. There are so many exciting things coming from i4Series this summer and I look forward to meeting many of you at our upcoming events!
