If you’re in tech but have the heart of a search and rescue volunteer, what do you do in the wake of Hurricane Helene? Join HelloGVL.org creator Andrew Miller, who’s also a Solutions Architect at Pixlmob. He and his collaborators at Atlas Local jumped into action to create websites for people who need help and connect them to the resources they need. One of the biggest challenges we’re seeing is the need for more coordination between public and private entities and those they serve.

They started with HelloGVL.org and are working on HelloAVL.org, two websites being built by the Greenville tech community, examples of Carolinians coming together to make a difference. It’s a work-in-progress and we can use your help!

This week, developers are delivering features that will allow organizations to share needs and connect with volunteers. They’re putting together an events page that publishes timely information about services like getting free legal assistance in dealing with FEMA applications and others.

Here’s how YOU and your network can help:

  1. Help spread the word about these sites.
  2. Help those asking for help. Whether directly, or by partnering with one of the organizations on resource pages.
  3. Lastly, please help add resources you are aware of to these sites.

For updates, follow Hello GVL on Instagram and we’ll be posting on them on i4Series social media as well.
